Back in Time... Friday?
...how did it become Friday, seriously. I thought for fun, since World of Warcraft is having its next expansion out shortly, to dig out this ancient sketch I did of my brief stint in the arena during... Burning Crusade? I don't know, when were Arenas new? So that would put this around... 2007, maybe? I'm not sure.
Anyway, I was part of a two-person team called Good Cop, Bad Cop. I was the good copy (holy priest, me in the foreground) and my partner was a warlock, and obviously the bad cop. We were both female human characters in gowns and it struck us as really funny to charge in there and kick the tails of larger/more sinister looking characters.
To be honest the warlock was a much better player. But we managed to rank up quite a bit and I had a lot of fun.
This is also one of the first drawings I experimented with digital compositing: the warlock, the priest, and the background are all separate drawings (on paper) that I scanned and then tried to arrange to my liking. I never seriously got into this method but I did use it for one or two paintings.
It was a lot of fun to draw all the gear/pet details... even the background. I think that's the Nagrand arena? But anyway, if you play WoW I hope you're amused. If you don't, I hope it's still fun to look at!
