Some quick notes now, just to keep you all apprised:
Last year, as some of you might remember, I tried selling books in the mall in a store devoted to local merchants. I was committed to that contract for twelve months, during which I sold maybe 14 books? I need to doublecheck. It was more than I expected but fewer than I needed to make that venture profitable, so I canceled my lease and called it a useful adventure. Which it was! But anyway, to furnish my area properly, I had to buy a lot of stock and I don’t really want it lying around, particularly since some of them have some imperfections after leaning on a store bookshelf for months. The obvious solution is a discounted doodled-in books sale! More on that after I do a product count.
Moving on: The Jokka game is now playable! My plan was to have a formal release in May but I think what might actually happen is more and more people start playing it, putting up with the errors (and enjoying the constant revisions) until at some point we’ll all look up and say, “Oh wait, this is long past the point where most games would have released.” In that spirit, I have added player chat channels for the game in Discord. The game is free for paying Patreon members, so for now, those are the only people I’ll be welcoming to make accounts. If you’re interested in participating in the alpha-to-beta transition, let me know and I’ll tell you where to sign up. Discord participation is still required so I can track player activity/requests/get feedback. But we have 13 players (not counting me) who are already having fun, and I’m sure they’d be happy to help any new people who want to jump in. Especially since onboarding is sort of broken right now. I’m working on it. (And everything else!)
